Director of Finance
West GTA, ONWe are partnering on a confidential search for a Director of Finance at a well-established, high-growth distributor of specialized instrumentation devices located in the West GTA. The business has scaled to nine-figure revenue, by both strong organic growth and a focused acquisition strategy. Backed by a respected private equity firm, the company is preparing for a potential transaction in the next few years making this a critical and high-impact hire.
This newly created role reports directly to the CFO and oversees a capable, engaged team of 12 (including three Manager-level direct reports). The Director will take ownership of core financial operations and elevate reporting, modeling, and business partnership capabilities.

We’re seeking a CPA with strong experience in distribution, manufacturing, or inventory-based businesses. The right candidate will be hands-on with Excel and ERP systems, financially disciplined, and commercially aware. Experience with private equity reporting, M&A integration, or multi-entity operations is highly valuable.

The Director will lead all aspects of financial management for the firm, including:
- Management Reporting – lead monthly and quarterly reporting, with analysis and recommendations, to the Leadership Team and PE owners – including KPI development and reporting.
- External Reporting – to support bank covenants, statutory reporting, etc.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support strategic decisions and ongoing growth.
- Cash Management – Cash flow, working capital optimization, currency risk management.
- Supervise credit, collections, vendor payments, payroll and benefits.
- Prepare calculations for bonus and commission programs and ensure alignment with employment agreements.
- Risk management activities including oversight and renewal of corporate insurance policies.
- Audit & Tax – Serve as the key liaison for audit and tax, delivering clean and timely outcomes.
- Manage integration of recent acquisitions into financial systems as well as optimizing synergies with personnel tasks.
