Director of Finance - Interim
Toronto, ONOur client is a rapidly-scaling start up in the environmental sector, with a proprietary process delivering very high value. This growth, including expansion to additional countries, as well as further capital raising activity, has lead to the creation of a new Director of Finance, Interim position. This role will have a very broad scope, covering all key finance and accounting responsibilities, while mentoring and strengthening a small team.

The company operates on a hybrid basis from a downtown core office in Toronto. This contract will start at six months, with longer-term potential.

The following experiences and skills will be valued in selecting the ideal candidate:
- An accounting designation, domestic or international.
- 10+ years of financial leadership roles of increasing responsibility, ideally in both large established organizations as well as smaller entrepreneurial ones.
- Proven ability to design and implement processes and systems improvement
- Full-cycle controllership experience, preferably in a multi-currency environment
- Experience accounting for a reasonably complex manufacturing or material processing operation
- Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, adjustments between the two, and generally strong technical accounting/research skills
