Overview of the General Manager (GM) Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead and expand the international business segment of the firm, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Office. The General Manager will be instrumental in shaping the business plan and operational tactics necessary to drive robust growth trajectories and effectively attain the specified financial goals. Key Responsibilities
Develop and Execute Business Plan:
Strategy Development: Finalize the business plan and operational strategy for the company’s international business, including: scaling the international segment, customer acquisition strategy and ongoing innovation of the products and services.
Market Analysis & Enhancement: Examine and enhance the existing go-to-market strategy in multiple international territories, aiming to broaden the reach and enhance the conversion rates of immigrants and visitors bound for Canada.
Global Expansion: Replicate effective operational processes to diversify product offerings in all the target countries.
Agile Business Management: Continuously adapt and modify business requirements as needed to ensure adherence to regulatory standards while fostering sustainable growth.
Financial Management:
P&L Responsibility: Proactively manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) statements for the international business to ensure financial targets, including net profitability, are met, and exceeded.
Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze financial performance, trends, strengths, and weaknesses and develop strategies to optimize revenue and cost efficiency.
Ensure regulatory compliance: Ensure that the international business adheres to local and regional compliance requirements. This involves staying updated on regulations, implementing necessary measures to support legal operations and profitable growth.
Talent Management and Staffing Strategy:
Strategy Building: Develop and execute a comprehensive talent management and staffing strategy for the international business, both domestically and internationally.
Top-Performers Retention: Recruit, develop, and retain top-performing individuals to build a skilled and motivated team.
Performance Management: Establish performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide coaching and mentoring to drive employee growth and development.
Marketing and Communications Strategy:

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Performance Evaluation: Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to comprehensively monitor and evaluate the performance of the international business segment, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and strategies.

Key Requirements:
As an experienced professional you will have:
Education Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related field is required, with preference given to candidates holding an MBA or advanced degree.
Leadership Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in executive roles related to international business operations.
