B Riley Farber has partnered with a dynamic and innovative company in sourcing an exceptional CFO to join their senior leadership team as they continue to grow globally and expand into new markets. Reporting to the CEO and collaborating closely with the COO, the CFO will oversee all financial operations and drive the implementation of financial and business strategies. The CFO will be integral to shaping the company’s future and scaling operations, while also contributing to high-level governance and strategic decision-making. This role offers the potential for the CFO to join the Board, enhancing their influence over the company’s trajectory and taking full advantage of the responsibilities of public company leadership.

With their continued growth, the CFO will play a key role in capital markets, leading capital-raising efforts to support expansion initiatives. This includes structuring financial strategies that align with shareholder interests, optimizing the capital structure, and identifying opportunities to enhance market value. Engaging with investors, analysts, and the financial community; the CFO will ensure clear and consistent communication of the company’s growth potential and strategic vision.

The CFO will be crucial in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and adhering to public company reporting standards. This includes overseeing quarterly and annual filings, managing investor relations, MD&A and ensuring financial disclosures accurately reflect performance and strategic goals. Additionally, the CFO will lead a team while continuously enhancing the infrastructure of the finance function as the business scales, including upgrading the accounting systems. The CFO will oversee cash management, financial planning & analysis, tax and audit management and risk management.

In order to be considered for the role, you will possess the following:
  • Undergrad degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA designation required, MBA is an asset.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles, working cross-functionally with an operational mindset as a strategic thinker whilst remaining hands-on.
  • Entrepreneurial, ownership mindset with experience working in a fast paced and agile North American or global business. Experience in B2B services industries, ideally with a focus on manufacturing and distribution is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets, capital raising, and investor relations, with a proven track record in negotiating banking facilities and maintaining banking relationships.
  • Strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Knowledge of disclosure requirements and corporate governance for listed entities.
  • Solid experience in integrating and upgrading systems, improving and digitizing workflows to create efficiency and scale. ERP systems experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical conduct.
