As Director of Materials & Logistics, you will be part of the AMTB leadership team and be pivotal in AMTB’s journey and future growth.


Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Materials & Logistics will play a key role in providing overall strategic and operational direction for AMTB materials management and logistics activities, including directing and managing all aspects of the company’s freight, warehousing, planning, and inventory across North America.

In this role, the individual will be responsible for developing and mentoring a team across various locations, contributing to the overall business strategy, establishing goals & objectives, managing external relationships and partnerships with forwarders, carriers, and other vendors, and optimizing AMTB materials management and logistics. As the Director of Materials & Logistics, you will work closely and collaborate with stakeholders within plant materials and logistics, operations, and finance. Leading and facilitating efforts in support of a world-class operation while researching and recommending new products, processes, systems, policies, and procedures to pursue in the future will all be key parts of this role to ensure alignment with company goals.

To be successful in this, you will possess the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Previous experience in a strategic planning, materials, manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain management and logistics leadership role.
  • Experience with total quality management (TQM) and continual improvement (within a lean manufacturing environment is a plus)
  • Must have demonstrated success in satisfying OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in a complex, competitive automotive market (ideally global)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (i.e., word, excel, project) and ERP systems (i.e., Epicor CMS, with AS400 MRP (CMS).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a large matrix organization, working collaboratively with colleagues and getting results through others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a curious mindset.
  • Executive presence - possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
