VP Financial Planning & Analysis

Positioned for continued expansion, the firm is now seeking a visionary Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to lead its financial strategy and drive its growth initiatives forward.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the VP of FP&A will play a crucial role in shaping the company’s financial direction, ensuring the development of accurate financial forecasts, models, and performance metrics to support strategic decision-making. This individual will work closely with the CEO, CFO, and the leadership team to develop long-term financial plans, identify new business opportunities, and ensure the optimization of capital allocation. The VP of FP&A will also manage a high-performing team, instilling a culture of collaboration and continuous growth.

The VP of FP&A will be directly involved in the preparation of key financial performance reports including KPIs, P&L, product profitability, expenses and liquidity. Provide detailed financial models on business opportunities for future expansions and acquisitions and new product launches. The role will include overseeing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation, ensuring that all financial decisions are aligned with the company’s business goals. This is an operational finance role, working closely with senior leadership as a strategic business partner providing guidance for the company’s infrastructure and operational needs as it scales.

As the business is positioned for  growth, the VP of FP&A will provide insights into financial trends, working with and presenting to both the executive team and Board to optimize financial performance. This is a key leadership opportunity to help shape the future of this important Canadian firm.

In order to be considered for the role, you will possess the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in FP&A or finance leadership roles, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Proven experience in capital expenditure, financial modeling, and long-term strategic planning, including managing financial forecasts and budgets.
  • Deep understanding of retail banking or financial services profitability metrics across channels, products and geographies.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • A hands-on approach with a strategic mindset, able to collaborate across departments and provide financial leadership at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in scaling businesses with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple competing priorities.
