Our client is a pre-eminent Contract Research Organization, providing preclinical & clinical research in the area of neuroscience and movement disorders. They are affiliated with world-class hospital-based researchers, as well as leading pharmaceutical companies.
Their growth trajectory has lead to the need for a fractional (part-time) finance leader. This leader will capitalize on the existing 3rd party accounting provider’s work, and bring new business perspective and decision-making to support continued growth.
Initial responsibilities would include:
Take ownership for full budgeting/closing/management reporting cycle, including:
Annual budgets
Monthly financial close
Cash flow management and projection
Maintaining relationships with bankers, accounting firm, etc.
Managing facilities costs, agreements, leases, etc.
SR&ED program – support acct’g firm as required
Service Pricing – support medical staff in developing bids and RFP responses
Supervising/developing the current in-house and 3rd party accounting admin work
Collaborate with the HR leader on payroll, benefits plans, any human capital related cost issues
Prior experience in the medical and/or research sectors would be helpful, but not required. Experience as the finance lead in professional services organizations (law firms, accounting, engineering) would also be relevant.
It is anticipated that this role will be about 50% time to start, flexing as required.
